The Russian Interior Ministry has proposed creating a database of people who have left Russia.

A database of citizens who left Russia has appeared on the Internet

As the Agency reported in early July, a database of Russians who left the country after the start of the war in Ukraine has appeared on the Internet. The card of a person who left in the list “Left the Russian Federation 2022-2024” contains his first name, last name and patronymic, date of birth, as well as the date, direction and “reason” for leaving the country. There are only three such “reasons”: “the beginning of the SVO”, “announcement of mobilization” and “the mutiny of the Wagner PMC”.

The “Agency” checked 10 people who left Russia in 2022-2023 and did not find two of them in the database. Journalists found errors in two more cards.

The Bell: At least 666 thousand people left Russia and did not return during the war

The study was based on an analysis of officially published information, statements by officials and diplomats, as well as statistical data from analyzing the pros and cons of email marketing each of the host countries. To obtain them, journalists sent requests to migration and statistical authorities of almost 70 countries.

The authors note that this number may be ar numbers inaccurate, since some countries (Thailand, Indonesia) did not respond to requests, while others (Cyprus) do not keep records of Russians who have moved to them or have not yet published immigration data for 2023 (Portugal). In addition, it is impossible to know how many Russians who received a residence permit or a work or study permit abroad ultimately decided to return to the Russian Federation.
